Darius Dunlap’s work extends from long fascination with how technology shapes our world, the connections between people, and their drive to create and learn. His technology experience is deep in Internet technologies as well as across computing systems from supercomputers to mobile devices. His business experience includes product and service definition, operations, and business development.
Current roles:
- Founder of Syncopat, an early-stage startup company making tools that serve musician creativity, performance and education.
- Principal Consultant at SupportUX, LLC, which helps clients develop their support and services user experience as an integrated part of company and product strategy and advises companies on innovation management.
- Advisor to startups and regular speaker on startup strategy, customer development and product and services development.
- Advisory Board of the Silicon Valley Innovation Institute.

Darius is also an avid chef, specializing in local fresh produce and simple recipes yielding fabulous and delicious food. His primary customer is his wife, Joell, who is a very good eater. Darius’ poorly kept food blog is at http://www.feedthegirl.com.
He is a musician and some-time music promoter. He and a friend created and operated the Palo Alto Acoustic Music Open Mic at Cafe Verona in Palo Alto in the early 2000′s. He’s recently been learning to play bass, as well as getting the piano (his childhood instrument) back under his fingers.
Darius and his wife Joell live in the redwoods near Pescadero, CA with thier two cats, Yoda and Miles, and hound-and-a-half, Cissy and Tucker (Tucker’s other half in a mystery).
